PSI implements new warehouse management system for Görtz
The shoe and accessory supplier uses PSIwms to optimise business processes
Berlin, 29 April 2010 - PSI Logistics GmbH has been awarded by Görtz Logistik GmbH with the implementation of the new warehouse management system PSIwms. The PSI subsidiary will replace its 17-year-old software at the central Görtz warehouse in Norderstedt.
PSIwms will manage all processes from incoming goods and warehousing to dispatch and handle returns and cross docking. At the same time, a pick-by-voice system will be used for picking and automatic label applicators for dispatch handling. Up until now, each box for dispatch was labelled by hand. Now dispatch labels with the delivery address in the format of the respective shipping provider will be affixed automatically to the packages.
In launching the new warehouse management system PSIwms, modernising the warehouse technology and applying new technologies, long-standing customer Görtz is equipping its location in Norderstedt for future requirements.
Founded in 1875 in Hamburg, the well-established family business is represented in Germany, Austria, Poland and Switzerland by 280 Görtz branches and around 3,800 employees.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
