Vendor Managed Inventory
Integration and collaboration between companies become increasingly important in the management of logistics. It requires a high level of flexibility for the companies involved (the supplier, customer and logistics service provider) and for the IT systems used. The aim is to align the optimised business processes across the companies involved. The procurement process should be optimally converted and managed by IT. With VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), the supplier or the logistics service provider monitors the warehouse of the customer and is responsible for the management and replenishment of stocks for the customer. In this case, the optional module to manage the VMI process from PSIwms is effective – the flexible platform for warehouse logistics.
PSIwms as a central information system to manage and monitor the optimised procurement process for the production supply. It enables the improvement of supply availability and an decrease in replenishment lead time. It also enables prompt responses to stock fluctuations and a reduction of costs for procurement and storage.
