Yard Management System
Many complex business processes also take place at warehouses and logistic centres. Considerable advantages for streamlining can be gleaned if these processes are optimised by the use of a high-performance IT system. The Yard Management System, which is integrated in PSIwms, records and manages the freight vehicles ready for loading and unloading and assigns these to specific loading bays. If a bay is not yet available or the freight vehicle is not ready for loading and unloading, then it is sent to a parking bay. A large display screen in the outer area of the site or an SMS informs the driver that the bay is opening up. The Yard Management System helps to reduce the resources needed for coordination in the outer area of the warehouse. The time freight vehicles spend waiting is also shortened.
