Complex, intermodal and just in time
The requirements for procurement and distribution logistics in the automotive environment are highly complex and call for comprehensive solutions that, on one hand, meets the needs for delivery reliability and, on the other hand, supports the continuous process of cost optimization. For this, an optimally designed supply chain is essential where warehousing and transport costs are in line with each other at best.
The optimal storage of raw materials, semi-finished, finished and spare parts also plays an important role. To ensure a trouble-free production and operation in every phase, a constant availability of spare parts must be guaranteed. A well-thought-out and tailor-made planning of all necessary processes such as needs assessment, responsiveness, short-term provision and delivery of spare parts at the destination are prerequisites to avoid downtime, additional delays and costs.
The use of the PSI Logistics Suite creates a balance between sufficient warehousing and the lowest possible capital commitment. This way, downtime and failure of production processes and resulting additional costs can be avoided.
