Cross-Sales Success: RWE Awards PSI Logistics Order Traditional control system customer expands cooperation

Berlin, 22 January 2004 – PSI AG demonstrated an important cross sales success at the end of the year. RWE Net AG awarded PSI with the system design and realiza-tion of an integrated logistics management system. Logistic Enterprise Application forms the basis for a modular application and includes all the logistic applications from information to the order to provisions and transport.

The order includes the delivery of a warehouse and transport management system which is to be supplemented with a connection for transportation services. Proc-esses surrounding the offer and order management, the warehouse administration, the automatic tour planning, interactive transport disposition, handling and control as well as the transportation accounting and controlling. Furthermore a state-of-the-art connection to the SAP system is being developed jointly with RWE.

The goal is to significantly reduce the process and freight costs as well as vehicle and transportation costs by employing PSI solutions. All logistic processes will be reproduced without a media break and joint data holding of all the system components. The reaction times will be accelerated and the information for the transport disposition provided in good time. By using standardized interfaces the integration costs of new components will be reduced.

PSI was convincing in the selection process as a result of a functionality which already covered the greater part of the RWE requirements with the standard software and is char-acterized by great flexibility for reproducing future developments at RWE. An additional reason for the decision were PSI’s excellent references and the long years of positive experience in the energy sector. With this order RWE expands its traditional cooperation with the PSI Group.
