Extension of the existing ERP and WMS installation to control series production at the new production site

Berlin, 19 April 2018 - Aachen-based e.GO Mobile AG has commissioned PSI Automotive & Industry GmbH with the implementation of the fully integrated PSIpenta-MES. The modules capacity scheduler, shop-floor data acquisition, machine data connection, SCADA and document management are used. Together with the already implemented ERP system PSIpenta and the warehouse management software from the sister company PSI Logistics, the manufacturer of the electric city car e.GO Life will rely on an integrated IT infrastructure from PSI.

The Aachen Rothe Erde site will be equipped with PSI software for the control of the entire serial production in the new Industry 4.0 showcase plant. The configurable Manufacturing Execution System (MES) allows flexible modeling and simultaneous documentation of production processes and thus supports agile requirements during the start of serial production and subsequent model changes. At the beginning, the vehicles and the resulting process steps are planned and sequenced in every cycle based on the planning specifications from the ERP system. Production equipment such as torque wrenches and automated guided vehicle systems are supplied with standard values via bidirectional interfaces and send feedback signals to the system. The digital vehicle file contains all the information on each car. A company-wide document management system (DMS) for audit-proof archiving of all documents completes the MES solution of e.GO Mobile AG. The extended SCADA system visualizes the entire plant down to individual parameters of the current factory situation.

As early as 2017, the PSI Group was awarded the contract as partner for production planning and control of the intralogistics processes for the production of the e.GO Life. With the current order for the PSI MES solution, the electric vehicle manufacturer relies on an integrated Industry 4.0 solution for production and logistics based on the modern, Java-based technology platform of the PSI Group. From 23 to 27 April 2018, the integrated production and logistics process will be demonstrated live at the PSI stand in Hall 7, Stand A 24 at the Hanover Fair using the practical example of e.GO Mobile AG.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI Group develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (energy networks, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 1,650 people worldwide.
