Hettich International Counts on PSI’s Warehouse Management System

Berlin, 13 January 2005 – The Hettich International Group will be operating its new logistics center in Bünde with a warehouse management system from PSI Logistics. Hettich International is a globally acting manufacturer of functional and connecting fittings for the furniture industry. The solution, based on the standard product PSIwms, controls and optimizes all the process operations in the logistics center. The software project is planned to take more than one year and has a volume of significantly more than 500,000 euros.

The new warehouse management system optimizes the planning of picking areas and the complex goods out and loading area, whereby a punctual and loading-optimized provision of the goods to be shipped is guaranteed. PSIwms obtains the required delivery and transportation data directly from the Hettich Group’s SAP system. On the basis of the maximum number of packages calculated by PSIwms, the truck is optimally loaded and the route planning performed. Besides this, the warehouse management system also supports the use of the loading places outside the logistics center.

With the Hettich International order PSI continues with the positive trend in the Logistics Business and again underlines its position as one of the leading independent software providers in the logistics market.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,100 persons in the group.
