PSI Implements Warehouse Software for Conergy AG Central European Warehouse

Faster order handling and improved service with PSIwms

Berlin, 4 December 2007 – The PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH successfully implemented the warehouse software PSIwms for the Conergy AG European central warehouse at Zweibrücken in Rhineland-Palatinate within three months of being awarded the contract. The use of PSIwms will assure more transparency and efficient processes in the warehouse administration. Two-digit increases in performance are expected.

Conergy, headquartered in Hamburg, has the highest sales figures of any solar company in Europe. The company is concentrating its logistics activities for Europe in the ultra-modern central warehouse with 25,000 square meters of storage space. The warehouse management system PSIwms with an integrated forklift system will be employed. The modularly designed, standard system has been configured precisely in its functionalities to match the demands of the storage and distribution center. "A reliable and smooth project handling," says Thomas Rech, Head of Distribution at Conergy. "Even in the transition to operations, which was accompanied by PSI Logistics on-site, there was no need for any mentionable adjustments to be made. "

The supply of customers from Zweibrücken has been taking place since the middle of November. About 200 trucks with 33 palettes each carried solar modules, inverters, solar-thermal and water pump systems from the five old warehouses in the first two weeks of the month. PSIwms was already put to use in these transfers to control the processes and for administration. The PSI warehouse management system was used to record the inflows in the old warehouses, to generate the loading lists for the trucks and made for a shorter recording of the goods received in Zweibrücken. In the future operation PSIwms in connection with the Conergy shipping systems is intended to increase the storage performance and turnover rate by a double-digit rate compared to the previous performance.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (steel, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
