Swedish Banverket Chooses PSIcontrol Control System Control system from PSI will ensure rail electrical supply in Sweden

Berlin, 13 May 2004 – The Swedish railway operator Banverket has decided in favor of a PSIcontrol control system for the management of the railway electrical supply. The new system will replace eight existing control systems with an integrated solution. The new solution will be realized jointly by VA TECH CNI, a joint venture of VA TECH SAT and PSI, and the Danish VA TECH SAT.

The new system should put Banverket in the position to repair disruptions more quickly and therefore to minimize interruptions in rail traffic. In all a total of up to 50 operators and 25 maintenance engineers will be working simultaneously with the new PSIcontrol system. The new solution will integrate eight sites throughout Sweden.

The Banverket contract underscores the international competitiveness of PSIcontrol control systems in comparison to major international providers.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1.150 persons in the group.
